Anayvette Martinez

Anayvette Martinez, co-founder and CEO of Programs & Communications of the Radical Monarchs, is a San Francisco native and child of Central American immigrants. Anayvette’s varied interests in advocacy, community organizing and empowerment led her to pursue her undergraduate degree at the University of California Los Angeles and later, her Master’s degree at San Francisco State University in Ethnic Studies. Over the past 15 years, she has developed and managed education, social justice, and gendered support programs focused on empowerment and safety for youth, families and their adult allies. She currently lives & loves in Northern California.

Marilyn Hollinquest

Marilyn is a social justice advocate who specializes in young people of colors self-empowerment. She has 15 plus years of experience as a teacher, community advocate and scholar. Marilyn received her M.A in Ethnic Studies from San Francisco State University, and B.A in Community Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz. Marilyn is passionate about the marriage of theory and practice (praxis) which is at the core of her commitment to the authentic inclusion of disenfranchised peoples. She is a proud Tulare California native.

Deandra Cadet

She/Her

Deandra “Dede” Cadet has a passion for connecting people, resources, ideas, and stories to bring us to joy, healing, and collective liberation. Prior to Radical Monarchs, Dede was the Cofounder and Executive Director of InterAction Initiative Inc. an organization she co-founded at 22 years old to cultivate young BIPOC(Black Indigenous People of Color) as racial justice leaders and amplify their counter-narratives. Through her work at InterAction, she recognized the immense power that youth of color hold in affecting change and reimagining our future. In 2018, Deandra was named a Dalai Lama Fellow, a global program which recognizes young social change leaders. Deandra currently lives in Chicago where she enjoys walks around her neighborhood and the lake, dreaming up fun radical projects with other women of color, interior design, and being a plant mom.

Victoria Gomez

Victoria, Radical Monarchs’ Program and Communications Manager, believes in the endless capabilities of women and girls of color. She has worked with youth in various capacities as a youth leadership coordinator in Marin County, a social studies middle-school teacher in Berkeley and San Francisco, and a community outreach manager throughout the Bay Area. The Radical Monarchs is an organization where she is continuing to deepen her commitment to the liberation of communities of color. Victoria graduated from San Jose State University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, there she began her focus on the complex intersections within Latinx identities. She is hella proud of her Nicaraguan roots and San Francisco upbringing. Oakland has been her home for several years, a place where she is continuously inspired to engage in women-of-color led movements.

Sierra is an experienced outdoor educator, youth development professional, and community contributor, committed to empowering youth to be the best versions of themselves. An East Coaster at heart, Sierra was born and raised in New Jersey, graduated from Georgia State University with a B.B.A in Hospitality Administration, and has taken her talents to Upstate New York, Atlanta, Georgia, and across California. Sierra is passionate about environmental justice, food justice, and black/brown entrepreneurship, and hopes to help create a future where communities of color can thrive physically, spiritually, and economically. In her personal time Sierra loves to cook, crochet, thrift shop, and spend time in nature.

Adrienne Inman

Adrienne is an Atlanta-raised philanthropy officer with deep connections to New York City. She has over a decade of non-profit experience and a passion for trauma-informed Black queer and trans youth advocacy. Receiving a dual psychology and criminal justice degree from Georgia State University, she spent most of her career promoting and creating programming addressing the intersections of mental health, social work, and alternatives to incarceration. A blerd that loves all kinds of geek/nerd material, Adrienne is eager to carve out decolonized spaces dedicated to restorative healing in order to dismantle the traditional, punitive criminal justice system and the school-to-prison nexus.
